Yes or No

God set’s up boundary’s in our lives to keep us safe from things that can harm us. That’s why we have the 10 commandments. The bible tell’s us it is essential to be very clear with how you speak to people and respond. With that being said, It’s also important to know right from wrong. When you respond to another persons question you shouldn’t leave any room for pandering because this leaves the door open for other messages to get a cross that are not in God’s will for you or your life. Communication isn’t just speaking to someone.

It can be your tone of voice with how you respond. For an example, if someone asks you something and you go “welllll yah” Instead of “yes.” That gives off a clear sign you mean “no, not really.” It’s unclear, leaves room for interpretation and confusion which, is not God’s will for you. One of Satans tricks is confusion. This gives the enemy an opportunity to attack. Your body language is another example. For an example, if you are standing with your arms crossed instead of down by your side this communicates to others that you are guarded and possibly don’t want to talk. Instead of being open to communication with your hands by your side and showing that you’re open to talking.

When we don’t know right from wrong and we go to answer a question this leaves rom for the enemy to attack as well. We as Christians need to read scripture then, simply answer with a definite yes or no answer to questions that are being directed at us. That way, there is no room for any evil to creep into the conversation or for God’s will in your life to go another direction. In order to know right from wrong we need to read scripture and listen to God’s word. Set bounds, be confident in the word and answer clearly to others.

Matthew 5:37 “Let what you say be simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything more than this comes from evil.”

Prayer Starter: Lord, please help me today use your word to decipher right from wrong. I pray you let the Holy Spirit guide me in order to give clear, definite answers to every situation I come across. Thank you for teaching me right from wrong. Amen.
