Love is defined as “an intense feeling of deep affection” or “a great interest of pleasure in something.” In the bible God tells us to keep our love free from material things such as money, earthly treasures and to be content with what you have. (Hebrews 13:5), (Matthew 6:19-21).
Have you ever loved someone so much to the point where they have made you jealous? Or has someone ever loved you so much where they have gotten jealous of someone or something else because of you? Jealousy is defined as a feeling of envy of someone or their achievements and advantages. Well, God loves us this much. Exodus 34:14 says “for you shall worship no other god, for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.”
Proverbs 6:16-19 says “There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.
In others words God hates anything that causes disgust or hatred. Pride, lies, killing, morally wrong plans, people who enjoy making others argue and people who are quick to profoundly be wicked. John 1 4:8 says “Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.” If you agree on God with the topics listed above then good for you. You’re a decent person.
Prayer Starter: Lord, thank you today and everyday for loving me so much that you are jealous for me. I pray today that you help my love grow for others and you. I love you so much God. Amen.
