When I woke up this morning I had the song “All on Me” by Devin Dawson stuck in my head. When I got down on my knees to pray this morning I couldn’t help but put all my cares and anxiety’s on God. The great thing about having a relationship with God is although sometimes you dont always get all the answers right away. When you do get the answers after searching for what sometimes seems like forever, they are always so much better than what you could have ever hoped or dreamed of. When I get those answers I know deep down they are truly God’s will. Thats when I know it’s the right time to make His move for my life. The bible talks about life a lot.
2 Corinthians 4: 8-128 “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.10 We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.11 For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that his life may also be revealed in our mortal body.12 So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you.”
Isaiah 55:3 “Incline your ear and come to Me. Listen, that you may live; And I will make an everlasting covenant with you, According to the faithful mercies shown to David.”
In Touch Ministry’s Daily Devotional really spoke to me today. They said “Are you trying to live the Christian life in your own strength by working hard to serve the Lord and become a better person? Such an approach leads only to fruitless exhaustion. To flourish and grow, a person must be completely dependent on Christ for spiritual nutrition. That involves drawing near to Him each morning through His Word and prayer and receiving His grace all day long.”
I love the prayer “I can do all things through God who strengthens me” because I know that through Him I will lead a fruitful life. To be “fruitful” means to multiply to your life or add to something thats already there. I like to think of a tree for an example with a ton of fruit on it! In the winter all the leaves and fruit drop to the floor. The branches break off and the tree begins to die. In the spring when the sun comes out the leaves, fruit and branches begin to grow back! The tree is alive! This can also be used as an example for Jesus Christ’s resurrection. The sun made the the fruit, leaves and branches grow back. Just how the Son made the fruit, leaves and branches grow back in our life.
Joyce Meyer had another great Daily Devotional today on having a fruitful spirit. She said “God has given us the fruit of self-control (see Galatians 5:22–23) and because we can ask Him to help us, we do have control over the way we respond to them. I can guarantee you from personal experience that it’s much better to face challenges with a healthy soul than with a weak or wounded one. A healthy soul is a worthy goal for all of us. I understand that in many ways it’s easier to get the groceries or drop off the kids at school than to work on becoming healthy in your mind, will, and emotions. I also know that pursuing health is one of the best things you will ever do for yourself, and that God will help you if you ask Him. It might seem impossible to you, but all things are possible with Him (see Matthew 19:26)!”-Joyce Meyers Ministry
