Luke was a famous prophet. He was inspired and ordained by God to announce how His people have been bruised, beaten and mistreated. But, have been saved by grace. The good news is God has put us Christians, who have truly accepted Him into our hearts as Lord and Savior. To let the world know that He is the king of kings and lord of lords (Revelation 19:6). We have been baptized, put through the ceremony. God has equipped us to publicly to announce the good news! That is big news and a big responsibility!
Jesus taught in churches, town squares, in homes and now almost the entire world know about Him. He was only on earth for about 30 years. He did and still does help sinners face guilt or shame everyday to help them find the light in the gospel. He helps people out of harsh or authoritative treatment. He helps people who don’t have anything and helps them gain everything they could imagine. We have the power of freedom and seeing the world through God’s eyes. What a great gift!
Mostly importantly, not only do we have the divine, Holy, perfect creator of the universe by our sides and in our hearts. We have His favor! He has approved of us, He loves us and His acts of kindness for us are beyond our imagination. God is working thing’s for you in your favor behind closed doors that you don’t even know about yet that will absolutely blow your mind!
Luke 4:18-19 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
Prayer Starter: Lord, thank you for giving me your spirit, anointing me to proclaim the good news, sending me to proclaim freedom and helping people begin to know you by sharing your word. I pray today that others are able to see the great things you have done for them and how much you love them. Amen.
