Luke 8:18

Yesterday I found a free Joyce Meyers book! I decided to take it home and start reading it. Its about how to listen to God. Joyce said in Part 1 “Be careful therefore how you listen. For to him who has (spiritual knowledge) will more be given, and from him who does not have (spiritual knowledge), even what he thinks and guesses and supposes that he will be taken away.” – Jesus in Luke 8:18.

I asked my Aunt what that meant and she said. “It means that you need the Holy Spirit to interpret and discern what you’re listening to. If you rely on your own wisdom you will not understand and you will think you are wise but you’re operating in the natural, not the supernatural.

The Pharisees were like this. They thought they were spiritual because they wore a lot of prayer shawls and were descended from Abraham but couldn’t discern the Son of God who fulfilled their own Old Testament prophecies when He was right in front of them because they were relying on their own wisdom and not God’s.”

Prayer Starter: Lord, please help us today listen to the Holy Spirit to interpret and discern what I’m listening to. Please help me to operate in the supernatural and rely on your wisdom instead of my own. Amen.
