This passage today tells us that we must strive for peace and holiness with everyone. Not just some people but all. That means even if we don’t like someone for whatever reason we still need to strive for peace and holiness. If we don’t show others peace or holiness we aren’t doing Gods will. There is something wrong in our own hearts that’s causing us to think this way and it’s wrong.
Now if we go out and are peaceful to everyone and someone doesn’t like us for whatever reason. That is not our problem because that is between them and God. God will fix whatever is wrong in our hearts all we have to do is welcome Him in and ask. We need to be devoting a substantial amount of time and effort to maintain peace with the ones around us well as with ourselves. Matthew 5:9 says “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.”
When we walk into a room and have the presences of God in our hearts people will and do notice. There should be something different about you. A calm, relaxed and refreshed person because we as Christians have our trust and faith in Jesus Christ alone. We should feel renewed every single day to go out into the world and make peace with others. God has already faught the battle for us so we have nothing to worry about.
Hebrews 12:14 “Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.”
Prayer Starter: Lord, thank you for fighting the battle for me. Thank you for giving me peace and holiness. Please help everyone reading this today show peace and holiness to others in your name. If there is something that we aren’t peaceful with please come into our hearts and fix us. Amen.
