Turning Away

The Bible tells us that we must turn away from sin the minute we catch our selfs thinking about sining. The minute the thought of sinning pops into our head we are to stop, acknowledge it and simply turn away. To go the other direction and walk away. This can also be known as repentance. Sin leads to addiction, hardships and a wounded soul. The Devil tempts us with sin because he want us to fall into sin like him.

Sin always seems to look good at first, thats how sin pulls you in but, it is never as good as it first seems. The important thing to remember is that our human self has died with Jesus Christ on the cross when we accepted Him into our life as our Lord and Savior. Through Jesus, we are no longer slaves to sin. So respond in a way to sin, that shows who you are in Christ. Trust in Jesus to guard you from sin and He will. He always gives you a way out. There is always another way. Life is about choices thats the great thing about God is He gives us free will!

Everyone has had the desire to sin, we are human’s of a fallen world. God heals us in ways that are unspeakable when we acknowledge sin and realize that we want to repent. It’s important to not only build a relationship with Christ but with your family, friends and acquaintances. You never know what kind of day someone else is having and the temptation they are facing. A simple smile, kind word or listening ear can go a long way. Ask your self today are you uplifting yourself or people today from sin?

Joyce Meyer talks about how the journey to healing is not smooth and easy because it makes you take an honest look at yourself in the mirror then ask God for help. That takes a strong person to realize what they are wrong, have the desire to change, ask for help and then do it. Your healing will have a positive impact on others and He will use you for great things. God uses broken people.

Romans 6:6 “knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin;”

Prayer Starter: Lord, thank you for helping myself and others repent from sin today. Please help us to continue to take an honest look in the mirror and ask for your help. Please use me today to help someone else struggling with sin. Amen.
