Faith Alone

We as Christians are not to be dependent on luck or wishes. We are to be dependent on our Savior The Lord Jesus Christ. Only through Him, on faith alone can we be saved. Notice the word “alone.” That’s defined as having no one else present. Indicating alone means with out anything else present. When I was about nine years old my dog Nano died. He was a Golden Retriever. For 10 years straight when I would blow my birthday candles out I would wish for Nano to come back to life. I look back now and think to myself how sad. The reality was deep down I knew Nano was never coming back.

I never believed in wishes or luck because I knew I could only depend on faith alone in God to get me through any obstacle in my life. I knew wishes were a waste of time. I’ll also never forget I told my Aunt who I look up to very much, she’s Christan. “Good Luck today.” She went no Michaela. It’s I’ll be praying for you. That kind of hit me when she said this because at that very moment in time, I had realized what I was saying. Now I tell people online or over the phone “I’ll be praying for you.” I also get a much better response in general than If I were to say “I’ll be sending you good wishes/luck.”

James 1:5-6 “If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind.”

Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”

John 8:24 unless you believe that I am who I claim to be, you will die in your sins.

Mark 5:36 Overhearing what they said, Jesus told him, “Don’t be afraid; just believe.”

Prayer Starter: Lord, please grow my faith in You alone today. I pray you do the same for others as well. I pray if anyone reading this isn’t saved you speak into their hearts and encourage them to know the truth. In Your name. Amen.
