Paitence

I do a weekly bible study with my Aunt and this week we did one on having Patience. Here were my main take aways.

God is never in a hurry but He is never late. He has always been and always will be. Picture a line that goes in front of you and continues into the distance as far as the eye can see. Picture that line and thats how long eternity is. You can’t even see the end. Now, put your thumb up in front of you and extend your arm as far as you can out. Thats the time span of human life compared to eternity.

A key note to take away from this is that what we do in this life will echo into eternity. It’s important to remember while we wait. That we do it by thanking God for the blessing He has already given us. We must not grow jealous of others that we see doing better than us especially when we are waiting for the simple fact that we might just want everything “NOW.”
I for one can be high strung and when I want something, I want it and I want it now. Thats my attitude. However, God has a different plan for me and His plan is always way better than I could ever even begin to imagine for myself. So, when I feel myself get the urge to go and get something but when God says to wait. I need to wait. Lacking control of some circumstances is also something I acknowledge and ask God to order my steps as I make the plans.

God will open the right doors for me and shut the ones that are wrong. Just because one door is shut in your life doesn’t mean another won’t open. In fact, shut doors are often blessings in disguise. God shuts the doors that will hurt us because he cares for us, loves us and wants to keep us safe.
It’s important to remember that God is working behind the scenes for you and me in regards to every situation we are in at every single moment. Matthew 6:33 tells us “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.”

We need to continue serving God, praying, worshiping and our fellowship with Him. When He says to wait on something we also need to wait for it and not go anyways. When God says wait. You must wait. Always seek and obey Him then everything else will fall into place. Everyone faces delays in life especially right now with our whole in regard COVID. There isn’t a single man or women that didn’t have to wait for something great my aunt told me.

Isaiah 64 “Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence.”

1st Peter 5:8: “Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary the devil walketh about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.”

Prayer Starter: Lord, please help us all find patience in you. Please help us to listen to you when you say wait and give us the strength to actually wait. Thank you for giving me all my blessings that you’ve given me. Amen.
