How To Love

Ask yourself today, what does love mean to you? Love is defined as a deep feeling of affection. To me it is doing the thing you love the most with the people you love the most. For example in my eyes love is taking a walk with my family and dog. Other times, its praying and having quiet time with God.
For us to be able to love others and give them our best we must first have a strong solid relationship with God. God is our foundation, the rock on which we stand. God loved us first and thats why we are able to love one another. He loves us so much that He died on the cross to forgive us of our sins.

1 John 4:19 “We love because he first loved us.”
Romans 5:8 “But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

The only reason we are able to love is because of God. He is Alpha and Omega. Almighty Jehovah. What we say and do daily is a reflection of God. He calls us to be His disciples. This is a huge honor. We are followers of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. As Christians we need to be helping and encouraging each other to live Godly lives. We are called to be compassionate, generous and caring towards one another.

Isiah 43:4 tells us “Because you are precious in my eyes, and honored, and I love you, I give men in return for you, peoples in exchange for your life.” We are of great value to God. Its important that we don’t waste what He call called us individually to be and do. Be careful in everything you do, show others respect and most importantly love one another.

John 13:34-35: “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” The defining characteristic of followers of Christ is to be love.

Prayer Starter: Lord, thank you for giving me the ability to love and be loved. I’m so thankful that you show me compassion, generosity and care daily. Please help me today show others love and do your will. Amen.
