Today when I was reading my fourth and last day of “Marked” by Transformation Church in the Bible app. A Dr Sues quote came up and really spoke to me. It said “You are youre than you and that is truer than true. There is no-one alive who is your the you.” I though to myself, what does it mean to be me? I went to the bible, as we should all do when we have questions and found this.
1 Samuel 16:7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”
Psalm 138:14-16 “I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.
Romans 12:2 “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
1 Peter 3: 2-4 “Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious.”
1 Timothy 4:4″For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving,”
Ephesians 2:10 “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”
Prayer Starter: Lord, Thank you for making me wonderfully made. Thank you for seeing me for my heart and not my out ward appearance. I pray today and everyday you help me see people for whats on the inside and not on the outside. Amen.
