Think about how different all our lives would be if we all showed mercy to one another? Forgiveness and compassion go hand in hand with mercy. People are suffering every single day because they haven’t heard God’s word. Some haven’t experienced mercy, forgiveness or compassion. God said, “Let light shine out of darkness” 2 Corinthians 6. God made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ. Our soul mission is to deliver the gospel and proclaim Jesus is Lord to the world! God has a light that he wants to sow into our hearts that gives us glory, knowledge and the strength to show His word to the world. The light shows forgiveness, truth and gives us eyes to see sin. God wants us to have a relationship with Him. We don’t get into heaven for what we do or our works but only through faith.
The world comes with questioning and criticism but we as believers don’t need to do this because we have God. He is all knowing, all mighty and all omniscient. I have confidence in God that He will use me to show others the light of His word. Paul talk’s about how God’s word is like treasure, its the best piece of treasure you can possibly obtain on earth because its God’s power. It’s important to never stop sharing the word, showing forgiveness, mercy, compassion and to just keep on going no matter what the world throws at us because God is greater and with us.
2 Corinthians 4:4 The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
Prayer Starter: Lord, please help me not to think how the world thinks. Please help me to show forgiveness, mercy and compassion to everyone I know. I want to share your word with others and bring light to sin in Your name. Help me to be open with others and show them integrity. When I feel doubtful or weak please give me strength to know Your word is so much stronger than anything of this world or what I might be feeling. Amen.
