Seeking God’s Will

When I was a little girl my Grandpa once said to me “If you can’t do somebody a good turn, don’t do them a turn at all.” He was telling me that if I couldn’t do something good for someone it’s better for me to do nothing at all then to do something bad. Mathew 33-34 made me think of what my grandpa said that day. When I thought about why, it came to me! When I’m seeking the kingdom of God and His righteousness I’m already focused on what I should be focused on. I should be focused on doing God’s will. We all have a living purpose. God wants us to share His word with others and to “love our neighbor neighbor as your self”Mark 12:31.

Psalm 52:7 says “I cry out to God Most High, to God who fulfills His purpose for me.” God will lead me in the right direction, just like He lead Moses and the Hebrews by parting the Red Sea into Sinai according to the book of Exodus. It’s important to not let yourself get over anxious because everyday is a new day. Tomorrow will bring us something different than the day before. God know’s what we need, why we need it, when we need something and how we need it more than we know for ourselves. Even if it’s hard to admit, it’s the truth wether we like it or not. He will always provide when we are seeking after the kingdom of God.

Mathew 33-34: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Prayer Starter: Lord, thank you for helping me day after day with anything and everything I’m facing. Please help me to focus my mind on the things above and not what tomorrow will bring. Please help me to focus on Godly things and not earthly things. I want to do your will and let you lead me to where I should be. Thank you for bringing me a new day today and letting me spend it with you. Amen.
