Precious Promises

In the bible under 2 Peter 1-3 faith is mentioned multiple times. Peter who was a slave and apostle of Jesus Christ is saying that faith has so much value that it’s not to be wasted. God has given us Christians faith. God doesn’t show favoritism, discrimination or unjust treatment. In fact under 2 Peter 2 God gives us courteous goodwill, elegance, freedom, and tranquility. God also gives us knowledge about our Lord Jesus Christ. Most Importantly according to 2 Peter 3, God has given us everything we need to live a Godly life.

I love how this verse says the word “everything” because even if we feel like something in our lives may be lacking in order for us to live a Godly life. God says no. He says I have given you everything!! He has given us a divine, pious and devout life the day we as Christians accepted the Lord Jesus Christ into our hearts. Jesus died on the cross for us and that is great news! It’s not because of what we did to deserve it or our works. It’s because He loves us so much that He had His only son die on the cross for our sins in order for us to recieve the gift of eternal life.

God is extraordinary, high renowned, honored, outstanding and extremely good. Therefore, because God is all of these things He has given us the precious promise! I believe this is something beyond us humans can even begin to comprehend. God has given this to us, for us to use. If you have received Jesus into your life you have recieved the precious promise. Now, as Christians God wants us to take His promise and divide it among others to share. His will is for more and more people to continue to share His gift of eternal life until the whole world has heard it.

Peter 2:1-4: “By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises.”

Prayer Starter: Lord, thank you so much for the gift of eternal life. I know I have done nothing to deserve it and the only reason why I have the precious promise of eternal life is because you love me so much that you sent your only son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for me. I’m so grateful for this gift! Please help me today and through out the week share your precious promise. Amen.
