Rest is a gift that God gives us all. I’m the type of person where I like to keep myself constantly busy. I like getting things done and waking up early. I’m a doer. I have the drive and motivation but, I’ve come to learn that having a lot on my plate all the time isn’t always good for me. God works in us when we take a step back to listen to Him. When I’m constantly busy all the time I can’t fully hear God.
God can see the whole picture we can only see a tiny snip bit. We are given the 7th day of rest for a reason. Humans need rest. God wants to speak to our spirit and for us to read the Bible to understand Him. For us to fully understand him we need to be in a quiet, still place with God alone daily.
I encourage you to find a quiet place for just you and God to be alone together on a regular basis (John 6:12). The Bible is our weapon of defense to keep our faith. Ask your self today, are you constantly busy working on earthly desires and pasisons? Or are you taking the time to listen to God in order to complete the work that God has given you?
Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”
Prayer Starter: Lord, thank you for speaking into my spirit and giving me the Bible to use as my spiritual weapon. I pray today that you help me complete the work that you have given me. Please help me to slow down and fully listen to your instruction. Amen.
