The Bible tells us that Jesus is the light of the world under John 8:12 “Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” Than, Matthew 5:14 tells us “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.” So, If Jesus is the light of the world and we are to what do you think that means?
It means that when you accept Jesus into your life as your Lord and Savior you become one with Him. Isaiah 42:6 tells us “I am the Lord; I have called you in righteousness; I will take you by the hand and keep you; I will give you as a covenant for the people, a light for the nations.” The creator of the universe has called us into light where there is no darkness at to do His will. If that doesn’t make you feel special then I don’t know what does.
I feel like this verse is relatable to a parent trying to show their children their craft. What they do for a living to continue the family business. For an example, with Real Estate. My Mother has been an agent for 25 years and so was my Grandmother. My Mother has taught be the ropes of Real Estate and closing deals all my life. I used to go to appointments with her in a baby carrier.
She is my parent and wants to see me succeed just how God want’s to see us succeed. He is our father and want’s us to continue the family business as well. Isaiah 49:16 says God even has us imprinted on His hands! God can not ever forget about us. He will always love us and care for us.
The minute the enemy of darkness try to tell you different. Know that it is a lie “See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.” I don’t know about you but if I got another person imprinted on my hand I hope that I would love them and want the best for them.
After I wrote this the song “Light Of The World” by Lauren Diagle started playing in my head! I love this song. Tip: Listen to this song then ask yourself today. How can you be the light of the world in someone else’s life today in order to do Gods will? Ephesians 5:8 “For at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.”
Prayer Starter: Lord, please help me be the light of the world today and everyday to do your will. Thank you for always loving me, never forgetting about me and trusting me to carry on the family business. Amen.
