What we do on earth is what we will get rewarded for in Heavan. We as believers don’t need to worry about judgement day because we already have Jesus in our hearts. Therefore, we will be with Him in Heavan when we pass. (1 Thessalonians 4:17 “Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.) To be “alive” means that we have Jesus walking by our side everyday of our lives on earth. Thats great news if you have this! When I get to Heavan I want to hear “good job my loyal, faithful servant.”
Mathew 6:19-21 talk’s about not spending all your money on a big fancy house, brand new clothes or a brand new car. Those are things of the world. Instead, he says to do things that honor God in Heavan. Eternity is a lot longer than the time we have here on earth. Some examples of where you can find heavanly treasure is sharing the word of God with others, seeking after the kingdom of heaven, striving for a life that’s not blameless and having an intimate relationship with God. I know when I do all these things not only do I feel better but someday I know I’ll get rewarded for it.
Mathew 6:19-21 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Prayer Starter: Lord, thank you for rewarding us Christans for what we do in Your name. I know our works don’t get us into heaven but only on faith alone. I’m so great full for that! Thank you for dieing on the cross for me and forgiving me of my sins. I pray today that you help me focus my mind on the treasures of heaven and not on things of this world. Please help me see through your eyes. Amen.
