Jeremiah 12:1-4 is a complaint from Jeremiah. Jeremiah wanted to ask God why evil prospers. In the beginning of the passage before Jeremiah could ask this question he had to first fully submit to God. He recognized God as righteousness. In Jeremiah 12:2 the fruit Jeremiah talks about is what comes from God. He also recognizes how our hearts will be tested by God but the wicked hearts won’t.
Jeremiah 12:2 You have planted them, and they have taken root; they grow and bear fruit. You are always on their lips but far from their hearts.
